Doug Fitch: Human/Nature Reception and Artist Talk

Arts and Culture, Exhibits

,

September 7 | 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Visit TurnPark Art Space for the opening reception of Human/Nature, a poignant and thought-provoking sculpture exhibition by Doug Fitch, a multimedia artist who works in media ranging from architecture and opera to puppetry and food. This mixed-media show pays tribute to Hillary Walton, a remarkable individual whose life straddled diverse disciplines. Fitch incorporates once-living trees and Walton’s extraordinary shoe collection to explore the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural world. The reception will feature David Rothenberg, a renowned musician and philosopher who has dedicated his career to exploring the musicality of the natural world. David Rothenberg will improvise soundscapes inspired by the songs of frogs, a theme that deeply captivated Hillary Walton during her time in the field of biology.
