In the long nights of winter we dream of spring and take in the subtle beauty of the ice world around us.  The Coming of the Light consists of thirteen works of art selected from Guild of Berkshire Artists applicants by jury.  Media include oils, textiles, pastels, and photography.  Styles range from realistic to geometric to abstract. The exhibit showcases the artistic strength and stylistic diversity of our visions. Sally Lebwohl’s Afternoon Walk in Winter evokes an afternoon walk in the cold.  Alvin Ouellet’s Studio in Winter reminds us of seasonal views and Susan Catelotti’s Sunset Silver Veil, the chilly beauty of winter sunset. Rachel Kaufmann’s Norwegian Jade is a view of other places and other climes. Memories of the summer glories include Kinney Freylinghuysen’s Sunset at Malnati’s Farm. Karen Carmean’s Autumn Fields eases the seasons change. Rick Neilsen’s Rolling Farmland gives a sense of autumn heat. Louis Coco’s Beautiful Flowers and Sun Flowers are a striking balance between realistic and abstract.  The delicate composition of Elsa Karr’s Family Heritage elevates craft into fine art.  Finally, Michele Caplan’s Star Circles bring us to orbs beyond the night sky. All works are for sale and a portion of each sale will go to the education efforts of the Berkshire Theatre Group and The Guild of Berkshire Artists.
