Search for tracks, scat, and other signs of wildlife that stay active through the winter. You’ll discover new whodunit mysteries that take place out in nature while we’re typically warm inside our homes. Dress for the weather. Snowshoes may be required depending on conditions; bring yours, or borrow ours. Please call Pleasant Valley office ahead to reserve: 413-637-0320. *Includes snowshoe rental. This program is at Canoe Meadows on Holmes Rd in Pittsfield.

Canoe Meadows’ beautiful grounds are ideal for spotting migrant species, especially waterfowl, warblers, swallows, orioles, and more. We’ll explore wetlands, meadows, and woodlands, and observe changes in bird species each week. Beginners welcome. All programs free of charge. Preregistration not required. Bring binoculars, if you have them.

Experience a magical summer light show, and help us track firefly numbers and diversity through the Firefly Watch program. Learn about fireflies and how best to view or gently catch and release these mystical glowing lights of summer! We'll take an evening walk in the meadows for firefly viewing while keeping our eyes open for the stars, planets, and twilight birds and mammals!
