Ready for the fast-approaching April break, but not yet sure how to spend or where to spend your time?
One family member loves invigorating outdoor action, and another craves the stories a museum can tell? Look no further than the Berkshires, where there are activities sure to engage everyone in your crew!
Mass Audubon Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary
Experience the outdoors coming to life through the Spring Explorers Vacation Camp at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox. Children 7-12 can sign up for one or all four days to experience the natural world of plants and emerging amphibians. Camp runs from April 18-21.
Berkshire Art Center
Berkshire Art Center is hosting its week-long April Vacation Camp – Magical, Mythical Creatures – for ages 6 and up from April 17-21. Explore your creativity through paint, collage, paper mache, and more! Extended day camps are also available.
Berkshire Botanical Garden
Calling young gardeners between the ages of 8-12! Come get your hands in the soil and plant seeds, prep garden beds, and explore gardens. Join the staff at BBG for a full day of activities, garden chores, play time, and stories, and learn about the growing cycle in the Berkshires.
Norman Rockwell Museum
On April 17, 18, 20, and 21, NRM presents the Art of Nature! Two classes available on each day, with exciting family art-making activities inspired by nature. Open to young children through teens.
Zoar Outdoor
April is an exciting time at Zoar, as that is when all the activities begin to pop! Experience the Zoar Gap rafting tour, or for the more adventurous, a Miller River rafting excursion. You can also try your hand at the Zip Line Canopy Tour, or combine activities with a Zip & Dip trip!
MASS MoCA
Come be creative in a bright and colorful space dedicated just to kids. The ArtBar, a hands-on studio, is open to kids each day during the April break. Admission is free!
Hancock Shaker Village
If you’ve never been to Hancock Shaker Village, spring is one of the best times to visit! And if you have been, you know it’s time to see the baby animals! The Baby Animals festival begins on April 15, and you won’t want to miss Mama Cinnamon’s wee piglets!
Spring Skiing at Berkshire East and Catamount
Still have a bit of ski fever left in your soul? Check out the Spring Equinox Pass, valid at Berkshire East and Catamount Mountain. Enjoy unlimited skiing or riding between March 1 and the end of the season at both locations.
Mount Greylock State Reservation
Check out the multiple outings, appropriate for all ages, at the Mount Greylock State Reservation. Find a hike just right for the kids, geochaching, or tree identification! Take your april break outdoors. Meet at the Visitor Center, unless otherwise noted.
Williamstown Rural Lands
Children in grades K-4 are invited to spend school break at Sheep Hill and discover April Vacation Spring Nature Explorers camp! This is a 5-day program including crafts, hikes, and stories that will teach kids abouts springtime plants, animals, and the sun. Registration closes April 14, 2023.
