Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8am – 5pm

Essential Job Functions

Job Summary

Performs, in accordance with established policies and procedures, a variety of duties to assist VP & General Counsel; manages documentary aspects of various legal matters, physician contracts, software, and other vendor agreements, and civil litigation support, including coordination of patient-related matters in Berkshire Probate and Family Court; supports administration of BHS insurance programs.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of five years as a paralegal in a law office or commercial business.

Education

Knowledge of legal principles and practices, in both litigation and transactional matters, at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalence in experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with e-discovery, including the ability to electronically organize, store, Bates number, redact, and produce documents.
  • Highest degree of discretion and ability to maintain strict confidence as to all matters.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under frequently severe time constraints.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters (constituting approximately 80% of work time).
  • Ability to work occasionally more than 40 hours a week and occasionally at irregular hours.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by telephone, and electronically with a diverse (and occasionally divergent) range of audiences with discretion, ordinary courtesy, and tact.
  • Ability to maintain office files, including timely retrieval.
