General Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Deputy Project Manager of Operations (DPMO) – Strategic Weapon Control (SWC) Production.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
- Acts as a point of contact from manufacturing to program management, engineering, quality, supply chain, and the customer when required.
- Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts, projects and proposals.
- Coordinates all manufacturing activity to achieve 100% on time delivery.
- Coordinates and communicates with project teams to ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Develops and manages detailed project schedules and work plans.
- Monitors program performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Identifies and manages program risks and issues and develop mitigation plans.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Prepares and presents regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders including customers.
- Facilitates and leads meetings, including project kick-offs, status updates, and post-project reviews.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation and project delivery.
- Leads and manages proposals within business area.
- Determines the manufacturing resources needed to support a project.
- Requires only minimal supervision and very little technical assistance
- Provides guidance and mentorship to project team members.

- Requires intense concentration to assure accurate completion of technical assignments.
- Requires multitasking abilities without losing focus to complete priority assignments.
- Requires the ability to research technical problems and summarize technical information as it applies to the given task.
- Requires the ability to plan, schedule and execute work.
- Grasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignments.
- Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction.
- Mentors others on the team.
- Fully proficient ability to present technical information to peers using written and verbal approaches.
- Fully proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- EVMS certification may be required.
- May be required to travel.
Target Salary Range
USD $110,175.00/Yr. – USD $119,213.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
