The Nothing Birds are a four-piece Indie Rock band from North Adams, Massachusetts. They all met performing at the Studio 9 open mics on a regular basis and joined forces out of a shared passion for musicianship and performance. The Nothing Birds origins can be found right here at Studio 9! Elenor Levine has been writing music for almost two decades, performing on Massachusetts stages including MASS MoCA, The Drake, Hawks and Reed Performing Arts Center as well as New York City venues, The Bowery Electric and Arlene’s Grocery. Her original music centers around alternative tunings, rhythmic plucking patterns, coded lyrics, and bright vocal melodies. She mostly takes inspiration from ‘60s and ‘70s songwriters like Paul Simon, Nick Drake, Laura Nyro, John Sebastian, and Joni Mitchell, as well as Elliott Smith, Belle & Sebastian, The Shins, and R.E.M.
