Berkshire Botanical Garden has announced its next art exhibition, Groundbreaking — Art from the Roots Up, on view in the Leonhardt Galleries from April 4-19. The public is invited to an opening reception. Exhibition hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Rooted in the Garden’s dual commitment to horticultural education and artistic exploration, the exhibition invites visitors to see the natural world through the eyes of BBG’s art students. The works on display were inspired by classes offered at the Garden and reflect how careful observation of plants, landscapes and seasonal change can deepen both artistic practice and appreciation for nature. From striking landscapes to playful and imaginative pieces, the exhibition celebrates the colors, forms and spirit of the living world. Each work demonstrates how studying plants — their structure, beauty and ecological relationships — can spark creativity while strengthening the Garden’s broader mission of environmental awareness and stewardship.
