Our first event for 2024 breaks new ground: an entire program dedicated to Duke Ellington’s music (OK, not big news yet), reimagined in the French Jazz Manouche style that was popularized by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. That’s right Duke a la Django. The concert features The Hot Club of New England. In addition to pianist Matt DeChamplain and vocalist Atla DeChamplain, the quintet includes Jason Anick, violin; Max O’Rouke, guitar; and Greg Loughman, upright bass. We call the program 10 by Duke, as it’s our participation in Pittsfield’s 10×10 Upstreet Winter Arts Festival.
