City of Pittsfield’s Memorial Day Parade

The City of Pittsfield’s annual Memorial Day procession (rain or shine) will begin at 9 am on Monday, May 27. For those participating, the lineup will take place at 8:30 am at the intersection of Fenn and Allen Streets. The group will proceed to North Street, and head north to Wahconah Street and then to Pittsfield Cemetery.
In honor of fallen Air Force SSgt. Jacob Galliher, members of SSgt. Galliher’s family and friends will be marching in the parade. A ceremony will follow at the cemetery, with opening remarks from United States Air Force Veteran Amanda Bates, Director of Veterans’ Services, followed by keynote speaker Lt. Col. (RET.) James Clark, Director of the Council on Aging.
The master of ceremonies is Director Bates, and the officer of the day is Tyrone Belanger. The event will include a reading of the names of Pittsfield veterans who passed away over the past year.
Pittsfield Community Television (PCTV) will televise the parade and ceremony on CityLink 1303 and on PCTV Select available on pittsfieldtv.org, Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.
