Virtual: Botanical Latin: An Introduction
Join Jennifer Bakshi for a brief history of botanical terminology from the time of the Roman empire through the development of binomial nomenclature by Carl Linnaeus. Jennifer will provide clarification on the meanings of botanical terms, genus, species and family, how the names are formed and the conventions for writing them. You’ll also learn the correct pronunciation of Latin plant names and explore hidden meanings of favorite plant names every gardener should know.

TurnPark Art Space and Mass Audubon collaborate for an evening of birds and their lovely evening chorus. A Mass Audubon Guide will take you through the art space learning about the many birds that spend the chilly winter among the statues. Enjoy a moonlit stroll at TurnPark with a Mass Audubon naturalist. On a short walk through the outdoor sculpture park, we'll listen and watch with the lens of wildlife tracking, searching for clues of elusive wild mammals (e.g. mice, squirrels, rabbits, fox and bobcats), while taking in the taking in the surreal landscape and art at TurnPark. Dress warmly; traction assistive footwear recommended.

Led by Maria Zordan, co-owner and operator of MX Morningstar Farm, this online course will include discussion of seed selection, seeding schedules, bed preparation and successful planting practice. Students will complete a vegetable garden design to be implemented at their own homes. There will also be an optional farm visit in early March (3 Classes).

Virtual: Dutch Tulips in Colored Pencil
Recreate the stunning tulips painted by Dutch artist Jacob Merrell 1614-1681. Working with colored pencils, you will be guided by botanical artist Carol Ann Morley, step-by-step from sketch to finished tulips. Once registered, attendees will be provided with a photograph of the Dutch tulips along with a materials list. (4 Classes)
