Berkshire United Way and BCC: MLK Day of Service
January 20 | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Berkshire United Way has partnered with Berkshire Community College (BCC), Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, and NAACP-Berkshire County Branch to offer several opportunities to give back and support our nonprofits and neighbors. This annual event invites the community to honor and uplift King’s legacy. The day will start at 10 am with breakfast at the First United Methodist Church (55 Fenn Street in Pittsfield) and an engaging keynote by Rachel Melendez Mabee, Greylock Federal Credit Union’s Vice President of DEI, Culture and Brand, followed by volunteer activities and a luncheon. Attendees will have an opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer activities with local service sites including Habitat for Humanity, crafting Valentine’s Day Cards for residents of Hillcrest, Western Mass Labor Association, and the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, in partnership with Berkshire United Way. Attendees will share a free meal, with lunch provided by UpStreet Smoke, a Pittsfield-based Black-owned business.
