The human form with its archetypes has directed Alan for over 55 years. He views life and the human form from an outlying place, sculpting body ego, as it was formed, molded, perceived, internalized . . . and as it has evolved. Alan sculpts spirit, emotional states, sensuality, primal forces. Most recently he has incorporated his extensive experience as a footwear designer into an exciting new “Lead Shoe” series. In its entirety Alan’s work references wholeness, vulnerability, deformation, fragmentation, contradictions, reflecting what it is to be imperfectly human, as we all ultimately exist.
