When you’re planning a trip to the Berkshires, keep costs down with discounted tickets for local attractions, seasonal packages on lodgings, and free activities. Are you a student, active military, Massachusetts teacher, or EBT cardholder? Bring your ID and enjoy reduced rates at participating venues.

When you stay at the Williamstown Motel, for example, packages are available with discounted tickets to The Clark (plus, first Sundays at the museum are free from October to May). The museum grounds are always open to the public for walks. Berkshire Valley Inn, another budget-friendly option in Williamstown, offers SKI + STAY packages for Jiminy Peak, continental breakfast, an on-site dog park, and a (seasonal) pool. Nearby Williams College Museum of Art is always free.

Traveling in the southern Berkshires? Make a reservation at Monument Mountain Motel in Great Barrington. Head downtown for art galleries and interesting shops then treat yourself to comfort food at Marketplace Kitchen or Xicohtencatl Mexican. Visit historic sites and landmarks on the Upper Housatonic Valley African American Heritage Trail. Or stop in at the tasting rooms at Berkshire Mountain Distillers and Big Elm Brewing.

And finally, if your idea of the ultimate Berkshire getaway involves sleeping in the great outdoors, go camping! Mt Greylock Campsite Park has a heated pool, an activity center, a playground, and a catch-and-release fishing pond. Granville State Forest offers fishing and horseback riding when you reserve one of their deep woods campsites. Bonnie Brae Campground offers full hookups for RVs.
