De Afuera, the exile garden of an artist-scientist, with Anne Elise Urrutia. Join Anne Elise Urrutia for a presentation of the dramatic story of her family’s journey from 1914 Revolutionary Mexico to the US and her exploration of her ancestor’s artistic creativity and messages of cultural heritage through landscape.  Ms. Urrutia is a writer and explorer of family history. She received an International Latino Book Award, and a San Antonio Conservation Society Publication Award, for her book Miraflores, San Antonio’s Mexican Garden of Memory (Trinity University Press, 2022). She received her English degree from Colorado College, was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and lives in North Adams, Massachusetts.
