Creating a Woven Jacquard Throw Using Experiments in Collage

Arts and Culture, Class, Workshop, and Open Studios

January 20 | 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

$283.50

Fans of Textiles! This class will utilize collage making + the application of digital processing to create a Jacquard woven throw blanket. Students will create their own abstract collage artwork. Referencing Matisse cutouts, we will explore the use of color and shape derived from everyday objects. Students will be instructed how to approach their work through the lens of designing within the textile medium.

The first two classes (January 13th & 20th from 3:00-5:30pm) will be held closer together to develop artwork and create digital files for manufacture. The third class (March 9th from 3:00-5:00pm) will be held about 6 weeks later to reveal our freshly delivered throw blankets and talk about your impressions of seeing your artwork made into fiber!
