Summer Camps to Engage, Educate, and Entertain Youth

Looking to expand your child’s horizons, introduce them to new friends, and create unique and lasting memories? Check out this list of fun and exciting experiences available only in the Berkshires this summer!

Barrington Stage Company KidsAct! And TeensAct!

Theater builds confidence, communication skills, and the ability to work within a group. In KidsACT! (ages 7-11) and TeensACT! (ages 12-16), kids practice improv skills, and create and perform a musical production! Master classes taught by professional performing artists are included.

Girls in grades 2-10 can partake in all-elective, educational programming in art, music, dance, theater, and sports. Campers learn new skills and interact with professionals across all disciplines. Special events including carnival days, dance parties, outdoor games, and trips to local cultural venues round out this unique experience. 

Berkshire Art Summer Camp

BAC’s Summer in the Studios! 2026 camps are offered for ages 5-14. The focus is on hands-on creativity with weekly themes that allow kids to explore drawing, painting, building, and self-expression. Locations in Stockbridge, West Stockbridge, and Pittsfield – sign up for a week or the whole summer!

Berkshire Botanical Farm in the Garden Camp

Come get your hands dirty! This day camp is open to children ages 4-12. Groups of 10-12 children work with two educators per group learning about the food system, the environment, and each other. From caring for seedlings to collecting eggs to creating botanical crafts, this camp invites students to be part of the gardening community. 

Berkshire HorseWorks – Ranch Life 101 Summer Program

Designed for ages 5-12, using equine interaction as its base, six weeks of half-day camp teaches young people how to relate to and work with horses and donkeys. Campers will develop riding skills, practice yoga, walk trails, help with farm chores, and enjoy nature-based arts and crafts.

Berkshire Nature Camp at Mass Audubon’s Pleasant Valley

This camp program teaches youth ages 4-17 how to connect with nature and each other. Half-day and full-day nature camps engage campers in games, crafts, and outdoor exploration. Older children will learn tree and wildlife identification and enjoy extended hikes. The Environmental Leadership camp helps teens identify the impacts of climate change and participation in related service projects. 

Berkshire Theatre Group Theatre Camp – BTG Plays

BTG is back with new Summertime Classes to get kids acting, writing, dancing, and performing. Sign up for BTG Plays – Playwriting Lab Express!; Theater Express (with two sessions; Performance with Pizazz!; and Let’s Dance (two sessions).

Blue Rider Stables Summer Horsemanship Program

If your child is interested in horses, what better than a camp that covers everything you’ve ever wanted to know about them! Weekly sessions teach riding and horse care through daily lessons and hands-on experiences. Have fun and build confidence with full and half-day sessions.

Buxton School and Pine Cobble Summer Programs

Buxton School and Pine Cobble School have joined together to offer week-long immersive camps for 2026. Camps run June 29 – August 21 for children ages 5-14. Ceramics, songwriting, baking, music/dance, and space exploration are just a few of the camps your child can explore.

Camp MASS MoCA

The Museum is offering three week-long themed day camps during August for middle schoolers (grades 6-9) and elementary students (grades 2-5). Campers will explore the Museum’s campus and exhibits, meet artists, and create their own works. Choose from weaving, skateboarding, animation, storytelling, and more.

Shakespeare & Company Riotous Youth Camp

Future thespians aged 7-17 will enjoy these one-, two- and three-week summer theater programs, where they can fully explore Shakespeare’s plays and learn voice, movement, and acting skills to portray his characters. Studying a specific play during each camp session, students then create their own performance for family and friends.

The S*M*ArtSummer 2026 program runs 4 day camp sessions in June and July located in South Egremont  for ages 6-14, offered by Flying Cloud Institute.  Campers experience ceramics, chemistry, sculpture, and environmental studies among many more topics. The camps help children explore new ideas and discover new skills.

The S*M*Art Future Innovators Camp, run by Flying Cloud Institute and held at the Berkshire Innovation Center in Pittsfield, runs August 10-14. Study robotics and the physics of flight, with a Launch Day on the final day of camp.

Young Women in Science: STEM Summer camp is open to all female and nonbinary-identified youth in a space centered on women. Offered by Flying Cloud Institute, camp is held at Berkshire Community College August 10-14. Campers engage in science and engineering investigations, developing their own research design through hands-on projects.

Summer on the Farm at Hancock Shaker Village

Each of the four week-long day camp sessions caters to a specific age group. Campers will have the opportunity to craft with fibers, wood, metal, and recycled materials. They will care for animals and gardens alongside the farmers, and make treats while learning about Shaker heritage. Time will also include enjoying the grounds through outdoor games and activities.
