Treat Yourself and Your Gal Pals to a Healthy and Rejuvenating February Berkshire Getaway.
How many of us gals have been cooped up with partners, pets, and kids, working from home and managing everything? How many of us single ladies are tired of isolating and missing our besties? Raise your hand if you’re commuting in these crazy times; driving to work in winter weather or masking on the subway. Ladies, we need a “Galentine’s Day” getaway now! But let’s help each other make it a healthy one. Let’s take care of ourselves.
Ready for a little healthy Berkshires fun? We’ve got some ideas.
Who Doesn’t Love a Spa Day?
In Touch Massage and Day Spa on the west bank of the Green River in Williamstown offers reasonably priced massage services, body treatments, facials and more in a serene and Covid-safe environment. Enjoy a deep tissue or hot stone massage, indulge in a sugar scrub, seaweed wrap or a purifying facial, then book an hour in the In Touch outdoor hot tub for up to six friends!
All that relaxing is bound to whet your appetites! Stay in the area and tuck into a healthy farm-to-table meal at the Trail House Kitchen & Bar in nearby North Adams. With gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options (and locally-sourced meat as well), you and your friends can tickle your taste buds while nourishing your bodies. Relax in Trail House’s beautiful wood-paneled dining room or enjoy their cozy outdoor fire pit.
Need to take some serenity home with you? The 21-and-over crowd can stop by the North Adams branch of Clear Sky Cannabis and pick up some Bliss Drops or Nordic Goddess infused body balm to keep the good vibes going.
Friends Who Exercise Together Stay Healthy Together!
Get your heart pumping on one of the Berkshire region’s many amazing trails! Exercise is always more fun with friends, and hiking in the Berkshires is a great way to rejuvenate your spirit by communing with Mother Nature at her most beautiful. Lace up your warmest hiking boots and marvel at the highest waterfall in Massachusetts when you hike Bash Bish Falls State Park in Mt. Washington. Or do a more leisurely nature walk on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, which runs from Lanesborough to Adams.
If your friends aren’t cold weather lovers, rejuvenate from the inside out when you book a meditation or yoga retreat at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge. Up for a fitness challenge? Try a Bootcamp Class at Lenox Fit in Lenox.
Retail Therapy is Still Therapy!
Sometimes a good old fashioned shopping trip with your pals is the best self-care, especially when you pick up some soothing aromatherapy bath milk or skin-nourishing lotion with scents like Jasmine Sambac and Sea Salted Hibiscus at Dory and Ginger in Pittsfield. Be your own Valentine and hop on over to Lenox and treat yourselves to a box of out-of-this-world handmade chocolates from the Chocolate Springs Café. While you’re there, you and your crew can sink into the Café’s comfy couches, savor a hot chocolate, and maybe catch some live music.
Of course, if you feel like enjoying a more traditional Valentine’s Day—or romantic weekend any time of year—with your spouse or partner, adjust accordingly! From couples’ massages to romantic walks and divine treats, you can’t go wrong in the Berkshires!
