New York Theatre Workshop’s Mind the Gap will return to the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center this summer, August 3-7. The intergenerational workshop will take place in the Indigo Room all week long, culminating in a free public performance in that space. Mind the Gap is a weeklong performance workshop that brings together youth and elders to explore identity, legacy, and empathy through storytelling and theatre-making. Participants work in intergenerational pairs and as a full ensemble to develop original performance pieces based on their lived experiences. The program culminates in a final invited sharing where participants perform their collaboratively devised work.
