As part of the 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival, we invite you to join artists Reggie Wilson and Michel Kouakou of Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group for a free, welcoming workshop open to all abilities. Community Shouts are joyful, participatory sing-alongs that invite people to connect with their rhythmic voices, bodies, and one another. Through songs, rhythms, and storytelling from Africa and the African Diaspora—including the Caribbean and the American South—participants explore shared traditions and cultural connections. No prior experience is needed, and everyone is encouraged to participate at their own comfort level.
