Community Read: Renegade Revolutionary

Residents and neighbors are invited to join the Town of Lee in a community read of Phillip Papas, Renegade Revolutionary – The Life of General Charles Lee. Community book-club discussions will take place biweekly in the months of June and July with a finale event on July 18, 2026 at the Lee Library from 10am to 12pm. Author, Phillip Papas will be present to host a lecture on General Charles Lee, have a Q&A, and conclude with a book signing. This program centers on the complex and controversial life of General Charles Lee, the Revolutionary War figure for whom the Town of Lee is named. Through this community read and discussion, participants will examine Lee’s role as a revolutionary voice who challenged authority, debated the meaning of liberty, and embodied the ideological conflicts of the era.
