Community Park Day for America’s 250th Anniversary
Berkshire250, Family Friendly, Festivals, Outdoor Event
April 25 | 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Stockbridge is hosting the America’s 250th anniversary with a Community Park Day. This free, family-friendly event will feature a great mix of local organizations, activities, and entertainment for all ages. Laurel Hill Association will be on hand with pamphlets titled Trees and the American Revolution, along with seedlings for adults and stickers for kids. HomeFarm at Undermountain, a nonprofit focused on conservation, wellbeing, education, and the arts, will bring some of their animals to meet the community and share more about their work. Theresa Sonsini of Main Street Café will donate ice cream for kids, and the 250th Continental Regiment will give a live musket demonstration. Live music by Michael Junkins will help set the tone for the afternoon, and the Stockbridge Museum team, led by Tayla and Tim, will host a hands-on “please touch” display featuring historical items. There will also be special appearances from the Stockbridge Police Department, Stockbridge Fire Department, Chesterwood Museum, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Be sure to stop by the Stockbridge 250th booth to pick up your passport. The passport program encourages visitors to attend events and exhibits around town, collect stamps, and be entered for a chance to win a prize. More details will be available at the event.
