The constant, unconditional love they give and the delight they show when they are included in our activities makes all of us happier. The pure joy they exhibit when riding in the car, jogging alongside us, or snuggled up at the foot of our beds make pet owners seek out dog-friendly accommodations when vacation time rolls around. The Berkshires is the perfect place for pups. Read on for dog-friendly lodging options!

The whole beauty of the Berkshires is available no matter where you might like to post up for the evening. That said, here are places to stay arranged by north, central, and south County that may be helpful in planning that next adventure.
The north end of the County is home to MASS MoCA, The Clark Art Institute, wonderful restaurants, and plentiful hiking trails. Nestled in welcoming Williamstown is the Williams Inn, a ready respite for you and your furry companion. Guest rooms boast Eurotop mattresses, in-room fridge, and large screen TVs. Enjoy the fitness center and self-serve beverage center on each floor before you and your pup head out to explore. In neighboring North Adams, check out The Porches Inn, an eclectic and pleasing home away from home. European-style breakfast is served fresh daily. Pamper yourself in the sauna or the four-season outdoor pool, or savor a glass or wine on the porch, with Fido by your side. Also in North Adams is the newly renovated Hotel Downstreet, named for the historic phrase of “going downstreet” to visit shops downtown. Its spacious rooms feature gorgeous mountain views – a great place to put your feet up at the end of a full day of fun. Take in art created by local artisans and a comfy coffee bar on the first floor before enjoying the indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center.

Central County boasts historic homes and gardens like The Mount and Ventfort Hall, inviting eateries and theater, and lots of outdoor activities. As you craft your itinerary, consider the Seven Hills Inn in Lenox. With special rooms designated for your fur baby and you, you can relax in comfortable, stylish surroundings with a large screen television and wifi inside, and expansive, tree lined grounds outside. In Pittsfield, stay at the historic Hotel on North, where the front desk keeps crates, blankets, and bowls in case you left yours behind. All staff members have treats to offer, and your pup can join you in the lounge if work calls or you’d just like to relax with a coffee.
If your travels will be taking you further south in the County, closer to hiking spots like Notchview, Tamarack Hollow Nature & Cultural Center, the Shaker Mill Inn is ready to host you and your dog! These cozy rooms are self-check in and out, and have a kitchenette stocked with snacks and breakfast goodies. The Inn can also provide suggestions for day trips, as well as references for pet sitting services, if needed. If you might be looking to center your visit on outdoor excursions, book a stay at the Little Lion in Great Barrington. With plush-top mattresses, fridge and large screen TV, not to mention fabulous mountain views at every turn, this retro-modern motel provides for a unique experience for you and your pup. Doggie guests receive an adventure box filled with toys and treats – and a guide to local pet-friendly locations! You can even book a groomer! Wonder who will like this adventure best – you or your pooch?
