Press About The Berkshires

Thinking of visiting upstate New York? Consider The Berkshires instead

Artist and hospitality veteran Scott Edward Cole and his partner Frank Muytjens (former head of menswear at J. Crew), recently opened the five-room Inn at Kenmore Hall in Richmond, Massachusetts. The beautifully restored Georgian-Federalist style home, set in 20 acres of meadows and woodlands, was built in 1792 for Henry Sherrill, an American Revolutionary War soldier who came to the area as a refugee from Long Island. The house went through various incarnations, including a boarding school and artist retreat, before the pair signed on last year to turn Kenmore Hall (and the adjacent carriage guest house cottage) into a welcoming bed and breakfast imbued with personal touches and understated luxury.
