Stay & Dine in the Berkshires

Are you interested in bringing your group to the Berkshires but don’t know where to stay or where to dine while here?  Not to worry, the Berkshires offers a diverse range of lodging and some of the best dining in Massachusetts to complement the world-class art and cultural offerings found throughout the region.

In the Southern Berkshires, Fairfield Inn & Suites in Great Barrington is the first Marriott in the Berkshires and is newly renovated as of April 2014.   The Fairfield is 100% modern and completely up-to-date.  They also offer a tour bus on-board greeting & farewell, welcome reception and baggage handling.

If staying at the Fairfield, consider dining at Crissey Farm which is right across the street on Route 7 in Great Barrington.  Crissey Farm, built in 2007, is a moderately priced, banquet facility that can accommodate from 40 to 200 guests. They use the finest local ingredients whenever possible. Their chef regularly updates the menu to reflect the bounty of the changing seasons. Two fireplaces complement the simple, yet tastefully designed interior.

Looking for a lodging property that also contains dining?  Consider the classic Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge.  At The Red Lion Inn, business travelers are extended the same special touches and conveniences that leisure guests have come to expect in the Berkshires: luxury bed linens, fluffy white robes and towels, turndown service, and overnight dry cleaning service and three on-site restaurant choices. Another choice might be Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club in Lenox. They not only have one of the largest spas in the Northeast along with fine and casual dining but they have a fantastic golf course on-site. Gateways Inn in Lenox is also another idea not only do they have an on-site restaurant but they offer a piano bar, a great way for your group to unwind after a busy Berkshire day.

Looking to bring your group to Pittsfield closer to Barrington Stage CompanyArrowhead or The Colonial Theatre? Consider the newly-renovated Best Western Berkshire Hills Hotel Inn & Suites.  In addition to standard kings and double beds, they have three different suites including a studio suite, two bedroom and fireplace suite.   Also in Pittsfield is the Crowne Plaza Hotel, containing 179 elegantly appointed guest rooms, full service restaurant, indoor pool and a full service restaurant.

Hampton Inn & Suites, in Lenox, offers spacious residential-style suites along with traditional guestrooms. Also in Lenox you will find the Kemble Inn which will give your group the chance to experience the charm of a New England Inn.

Close by try dining at Baba Louie’s in Pittsfield.  Wood fired organic sourdough pizza, creative soups, daily specials, vegan/gluten free options, salads & sandwiches made from the freshest local ingredients.   Other options include Mazzeo’s Ristorante, a second generation family-owned authentic Italian.

Interested in staying in Northern Berkshires? Consider the  Williams Inn in Williamstown.  The Williams Inn is undergoing some new and exciting changes, including a change in their management. Main Street Hospitality Group (that also operates the Red Lion Inn and Porches) has assumed management of The Williams Inn. Already the restaurant is being revamped and offers up delicious local cuisine, look for more changes over the next year. Also in Williamstown is the Orchards Hotel and Gala Restaurant that blends old-fashioned New England elegance with modern convenience.  Holiday Inn Express  located in North Adams is another great north county option.
