We hike, we eat local, farm-to-table foods and we are always looking to try new and exciting ways to stay fit and because of this we also offer a variety of lifestyle and fitness classes for those who are visiting the Berkshires. No matter your activity level, you can be assured you can keep up with your regular fitness routine and maybe even explore a few new classes!
Say you are really into yoga, you certainly don’t want to lose you downward dog groove. You can head on over to the world-renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. This yoga retreat and teaching nonprofit offers day passes that allow you access to all kinds of fitness ranging from traditional and advanced yoga to kayaking and meditation. The pass also includes three all-natural meals from the Kripalu Kitchen, long known for serving dishes that deliver both flavor and nutrition and are available with plenty of options to meet various dietary needs. If you get tired of working out, your day pass allows you access to their sauna, labyrinth maze, walking and hiking trails, lakefront beach area, fitness room, cafe, and bookshop.
Say you want to try a variety of classes, for just $12 a day; you can head to the beautiful Lenox Fit, located off Route 7 in Lenox and try a variety of classes. From Tai Chi to Pilates to Yoga, Kettlebells to Spin, Zumba and all levels of cardio, you can get your sweat on at morning, noon and night.
Just down the road from Lenox Fit in Great Barrington is Berkshire South Regional Community Center. A nonprofit community center, you can swim in their state-of-the-art pool, work out in their fitness center or take classes ranging from Insanity and boot camps to yoga. They also offer a variety of classes specializing in aquatic, fitness and enrichment for seniors, youth, early childhood, and adaptive needs.
Maybe you like to mix your fitness in with a little R&R? Cranwell Spa & Golf Resort, located in Lenox offers day passes that let you have full access to their glass-enclosed 60-foot long indoor pool, their state-of-the-art fitness center with daily classes, and a men’s and women’s lounges that include a quiet room with fireplace, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, so you can really relax after you sweat. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, Cranwell has several restaurants on its property, including a Spa Café that offers a nutritious daily lunch.
Perhaps you don’t want the commitment of an entire day but still want to squeeze in one class? Head to downtown Pittsfield, where both Radiance Yoga and Berkshire Yoga Dance and Fitness offer drop rates for classes throughout the day. Perfect for someone on the run or someone out and about on their lunch break.
If you happen to overdo the fitness or experience any kind of minor injury, our local hospital, Berkshire Health Systems offers a 24 hour Walk-In Center. Conveniently located at the newly renovated grocery store, Market 32 in Pittsfield, the medical staff can tend to any and all bumps, bruises, and aches fast so you can be on your way!
