Shine a Light: The Art and Life of Deb Koffman\, will be on view from November 8\, 2025 through June 7\, 2026\, and offers visitors an intimate glimpse into her creative world. The installation at the Museum includes a selection of her colorful works on paper\, text-based installation pieces\, finished\, stand-alone works of art\, and studies for Koffman’s popular books like Soul Support\, The Magic Lamp\, and The Blank Space. Her books tell metaphorical stories about belief\, self-support\, and positivity in an accessible style that borrows from cartoon and illustration history. SUMMARY:The Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz
DESCRIPTION:In 1943\, German SS officers in charge of Auschwitz-Birkenau ordered that an orchestra be formed among the female prisoners. Almost fifty women and girls from eleven nations were drafted into a band that would play marching music to other prisoners and was also made to give weekly concerts for Nazi officers. Being in the orchestra saved their lives – but at what cost? Award-winning historian Anne Sebba traces tangled questions of deep moral complexity with sensitivity and care.

SUMMARY:Small Works - Oil Paintings
DESCRIPTION:One if the most important elements in painting for me is the poetry that light and shadow create. I am drawn to the beauty I see in everyday life: a kitchen\, a pot\, or haybales on a hillside. I look to Manet\, Vermeer\, and Cezanne for inspiration; their brush strokes\, the warmth of their palettes\, and their composition.

SUMMARY:Final Knox Trail Talk
DESCRIPTION:Attend the final talk in the series about the Knox Trail where Tom Ragusa will discuss how he has traced and marked the route of the old road for 8 miles\, and his effort to list the road on the National Register. This is the longest undisturbed stretch of the historic road in Western Massachusetts. Tom Ragusa has spent almost twenty years researching and documenting the location of the old ‘Great Road’ road through Sandisfield and Otis. This road was used by Henry Knox and countless others through The Greenwoods. He retired from Mass DCR after 42 years\, is a long-term member of the Otis Historical Commission\, and is one of the authors of the upcoming book\, Ye Trodden Path. This talk will be held at the Monterey Library and will also be available to watch on Zoom.

SUMMARY:Norman Rockwell Museum Celebrates High School Art
DESCRIPTION:Three of the Berkshires’ leading art institutions—the Clark Art Institute\, MASS MoCA\, and Norman Rockwell Museum—will present a dynamic trio of high school art exhibitions\, collectively highlighting the creativity\, curiosity\, and critical thinking of the region’s young artists. Together\, these exhibitions underscore a shared commitment to arts education and to amplifying student voices through visual art. Norman Rockwell Museum presents the return of its 36th Annual Berkshire County High School Art Show. Inspired by Norman Rockwell—who began his own professional artistic career as a teenager—the long-running exhibition celebrates the imagination\, skill\, and diverse perspectives of local students. Featuring works in painting\, drawing\, photography\, sculpture\, mixed media\, and digital art\, the show offers visitors a vibrant glimpse into the next generation of artists and storytellers. This year’s presentation will be mounted in the Museum’s gallery space.
