Featured Chef: Michael Ballon of Castle Street Cafe Chef Ballon opened the Castle Street Cafe in 1989. Prior to moving to Great Barrington, Ballon cooked for over 10 years in New York City. While there he was Executive Chef at Lavin’s, Sofi, Wood’s, The New York City Bar Association, and Plum’s, a full service catering company. Ballon is also The Roundtable Chef on WAMC Public Radio, where he hosts a bi weekly cooking show which is broadcast over a large area of new York State and western New England. Featured Farm: Mill River Farm Mill River Farm is a beautiful certified organic farm in Mill River, MA. At the farm you will find laying hens, goats, honeybees & broad array of vegetable gardens. You can enjoy their produce on a weekly basis by being part of their CSA Program. They offer farm tours and an onsite farm store.
