Season Opening Celebration Picnic

Join us for a free community picnic to celebrate our season opening. The picnic will take place in the North Pasture, near the Great Stone Barn. Tour Manton Study Center

Visit the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper which houses the Clark’s collection of more than 6,000 prints, drawings, and photographs. Tanglewood Walking Tours

Free walking tours of the Tanglewood campus last approximately one hour and include visits to the Koussevitzky Music Shed, Ozawa Hall, other music facilities, the Visitor Center history rooms, and more. Experienced volunteer guides discuss the historical background of Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Music Center. Lantern Workshop

Work with artists from the New England Puppet Intensive to create an illuminated sculpture in preparation for the annual Berkshire Lantern Walk on Thursday, July 6 at 9 pm. Berkshire Lantern Walk

Take a stroll into the summer night during the annual Berkshire Lantern Walk. Meet at the Lunder Center at Stone Hill, create (8pm – 9pm) or pick up a lantern, and enjoy a walk on the Pasture Trail to Thomas Schütte’s Crystal. Along the path, members of the New England Puppet Intensive will present a hill-side performance with abstract, illuminated-objects inspired by the exhibition of As in Nature: Helen Frankenthaler Paintings — a visual spectacle reflecting the sense of color, landscape and beauty of Frankenthaler’s work. Local musicians Amrita Lash and Karl Mullen will provide an improvised score for the performance. Free and open to the public.

StorySLAM

Members of the Williamstown community and beyond are invited to hear and tell stories that center around the theme of nature. Have you ever had a profound or unexpected experience in nature? How has the natural world opened your eyes or changed your perspective? On the evening of the event, names of those interested in sharing stories are chosen at random, and those selected are invited to tell a five-minute story. A panel of judges provides feedback and prizes are awarded. 7pm – 9pm.
