The Three C’s of Studio Day Spa (WG)

Studio Day SpaNestled just off Main Street in Great Barrington you will find a cozy, clean and comfortable day spa professionally run by Maria Pizzuro-Cleary and her husband Eugene.  When I arrived at Studio Day Spa at 2 Elm Street, Maria was busy booking a wedding party for make-up and spa services.  A point of difference for Studio is that they don’t have the buzz and noise of a hair salon.  No dyes; no blow dryers; no hustle and bustle.  The offerings are personalized and one-on-one.  Sage foot baths, clay masks and competitive pricing on the 1-hr. facial and reflexology treatments make this little spa worth the visit.  They feature make-up by Jane Iredale including powder SPF products; Maria says she’s noticing that people really want to start looking their best again, and many are looking to recreate themselves.  Studio helps them to do exactly that.  The Dr. Hauschka skincare product line was discovered by Maria on a trip to Germany.  The focus is on radiance, and bringing out your natural beauty as opposed to covering.  Although you can find language in the Jane Iredale material such as “delete” and “conceal” or even “primer,” but hey! It is makeup after all.  The Dr. Hauschka line is all natural botanicals derived from nature in its purest form.  Maria’s resume’ is quite impressive and includes Ralph Lauren photo shoots as well as serving as personal make-up artist to Judy Collins.  Another point of difference is the boutique in the reception area, which includes fine local jewelry, Antonia’s Flowers East Hampton and Tocca perfume.  Studio rounds out its offerings with massage therapy, fantasy spray tanning, waxing and manicures/pedicures.
